Sept. 16, 2018: We were so honored to host Douglas Brinkley as our Keynote Speaker Friday. His address was amazing and so inspiring. We also thank Dr. Cynthia Farthing for her wonderful presentation on Hidden Figures and Sean Donaldson from the African American Museum of Iowa for his informative presentation about the museum and Edna Griffin, the Rosa Parks of Iowa.
Student News Net proudly announces its first annual Student Symposium. The primary goal of the Symposium is to bring students together to research and share knowledge, mediated by technology, about the actions and accomplishments of African American women in the 1940s and 1950s in order to enhance their knowledge of the history of the civil rights movement.
